DISCLAIMER:

Please note that there may be upwards of 7-10 days when it comes to online payment processing depending on what digital platform payment is initiated on, though 3-5 business days is more common for processing times. For online payments the Village defines the payment date as the day it receives the payment in the Village’s financial accounts, not the date that the payee initiates the payment on the platform they are utilising. If you are making payment within two weeks of an upcoming payment deadline, please contact the Village Office for more information on which payment method may be more appropriate to use in order to have payment received before the deadline. It is also better to contact the Village Office to confirm that your payment has been received. For mailing, please note that mail, while getting faster, can still take 2-3 weeks or more before we receive it at the Village Office, even if a courier service is utilized. We go by the date we have processed the payment in our accounting software after we have retrieved it from the post office (or it has been dropped off at our office by a courier), we do not go by the date that payment was sent or is dated on the cheque or money order for determining if a payment has been received by the payment deadline or not.

Third party delays are not accepted as a reason to remove a late payment charge that has been applied for payment not being received by the deadline.
