Trails
With a trail network winding through the centre of our community, starting at the Museum and connecting with the Community Park and Sunset Park, trails are a prominent feature within our Village inviting locals and visitors alike to get around and explore on foot and access a variety of recreational areas and shortcuts.
In total there are three trails within our municipal boundaries: The Millennium Park Trail located in Millennium Memorial Park, the Museum Trail located at the Port Clements Museum, and the Sunset Park Trail that extends up to the Community Park and ends across the street from the start of the trail at the
Museum.
About 5km on the backroads leading to Juskatla and access to Daajing Giids, in the Yaaguun Gandlaay protected area, the Golden Spruce Trail is the most well- known trail associated with Port Clements due to its proximity. It is the short path that leads to where Kiidk’yass (the Golden Spruce Tree) once stood. Local residents once enjoyed picnicking in view of the Golden Spruce. The trail is known for how easy it is to walk as well as its pleasing view of the forest and Yakoun River.
