Emergency Alerts Registration

The communities on Haida Gwaii operate an emergency and informational notification system
called Voyent Alert!

This system is used to send time-sensitive alerts during emergency situations, as well as non-
emergency informational alerts to residents and people registered by the system. If you have a
smart phone you can download the Voyent Alert! app and sign up through the app. You can
receive notifications from the app, and/or you can sign up to receive text messages, and/or your phone to be called (whether cell or landline), and/or you can be sent an email – you can also sign up to receive the notifications through all the different ways possible!

You can choose whether to receive just emergency alerts or to also receive informational alerts.
Informational alerts would be about non-emergency things such as including, but not limited to,
temporary road closure due to public works maintenance, or temporary trail closure while
danger trees were being removed, or possible fluctuations in water pressure while water system maintenance was occurring.

You can also register online at voyent-alert.

If you need help registering or do not have access to a personal computer, you can visit the
Village Office and staff can assist you with registration or you can use the public access
computer in the office to register yourself.

This system was adopted and went live in August 2024 and replaced the previous Epact
Emergency Notification System that had been adopted and operated since 2017.
