In 2013 the Village of Port Clements, in partnership with Misty Isles Economic Development Society (MIEDS), and with the aid of grant funding from Northern Development Initiative Trust and Gwaii Trust, had KPMG do a Business Case study on the barge facility concept. The study is provided below:

At the July 14 Public meeting there was discussion about Riparian regulations related to the Sunset Park. Specifically there was reference to a study done in 2001 which documented and classified all the streams running through Sunset Park. There will be a public meeting Monday July 14th, 2014 at 7pm in the Community Hall. The topics for discussion include the introduction of a draft Management Plan for the Sunset Park, an update on the progress to date on the barge facility project and information on a biomass heating project for the Multiplex and fire hall buildings.
